BiographyModel/Actress Shannon moved to Saskatoon, SK in 1999 to further her education in Science and Business at the University of Saskatchewan after graduating from Hapnot Collegiate in Flin Flon, MB. She grew up in the small town of Cranberry Portage, in northern Manitoba. Since 1999, Shannon has had experience in many areas including: running her own business for seven years, media/broadcast advertising sales, and modeling & acting. She currently has a career as an account executive with Chandran Media working on the TV shows: Inside Fashion and Nitelife TV. She’s also trained at the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles. Shannon is very involved in the community and supports many local, national and international charities and non-profit organizations. She has always had an interest in the preservation of our planet and is excited to take on her role as Miss Earth Saskatoon as well as Miss Saskatchewan Galaxy. One of her latest causes is volunteering for The Princess Shop, a Saskatoon non-profit organization who loans grad gowns and accessories to female grads who otherwise couldn’t afford their own. She is donating her pageant gowns to the cause and is writing a book to encourage young women to succeed – a portion of the proceeds will go to The Princess Shop. “My ultimate goal remains to help people on a greater level, so being Miss Saskatchewan Galaxy and Miss Earth Saskatoon and running in national pageants in a way (Miss Earth Canada, Miss Canada Galaxy, Miss Universe Canada), I feel, helps me to help people on a greater level.” She is also a volunteer yoga instructor at the local YMCA and believes that a well-balanced lifestyle is one of the keys to success.
